Early January means the return of one of our favourite food festivals, Happening Gourmand. For it’s 10th edition, Montreal’s media and VIP guests crowded Modavie on St. Paul to kick off this year’s month long celebration of great food in Old Montreal.
To celebrate 10 years of serving inventive meals from specially created menus at exceptional prices, the participating restaurants of Happening Gourmand wanted to do something special. From January 5th to February 5th you can visit one of the 9 restaurants participating in the 2017 Happening Gourmand and one dollar from every meal served will go to Dans la rue, a Montreal-based non-profit organization that helps feed our city’s homeless.
For a decade, Happening Gourmand has attracted thousands of hungry people hoping to enjoy excellent food without breaking the bank. This year 9 different restaurants, including the wonderful new Maggie Oakes, have prepared special 3 course menus at unbeatable prices. Whether you’re in Old Montreal seeing the sites, hitting ice or you’ve made your way for some great food, Happening Gourmand is an excellent occasion to discover something new or indulge in an old favourite.
A few of our favourites such as Suite 701, Bevo, Verses and more are all set to serve you what they have thoughtfully prepared. Happening Gourmand 2017 runs from January 5th to February 5th leaving you plenty of time check out and try the delicious lunches and dinners.
