Veuve Clicquot added their signature colours and effervescence to the 2016 La Boucle du Grand Defi Pierre Lavoie. This year over 8000 cyclists took part in the 130 km bike circuit with one of the teams being sponsored by the famous champagne house. With Veuve Clicquot’s support the team raised over $10,000.00 for the Pierre Lavoie foundation and the programs it supports. Congratulations!
In honour of the participants who biked along the Richelieu River for the excellent cause, Veuve Clicquot invited a select group to the wonderful Auberge Saint-Gabriel in the old port for a champagne-filled outdoor BBQ. Beginning with canapés and white wine in the early evening, we mingled under the warm evening sun before the BBQs were fired up and the Veuve Rich was popped.
Dinner started as the sun was setting over the Auberge and we gathered to our tables where more Veuve Clicquot was popped as we enjoyed skewers of freshly BBQ’d beef in chimichuri sauce, grilled peanut butter chicken, salmon and passion fruit and more. It was a stylish BBQ a la Montreal and celebration that popped and bubbled like a fresh poured glass of Veuve Clicquot.
