Le Perché

The William Gray hotel in Old Montreal is an architectural marvel. While respecting the old world look of the surrounding neighbourhood, the hotel has pushed the boundaries of what it means to be a hotel in 2017. As much a gathering place for locals as it is an eye catching destination for visitors to our city, William Gray blurs the lines between hotel and nightlife hot spot.

19260673_1898192090451708_4378750077195336380_nWe got our first look at the hotel last year when we paid a visit to Maggie Oakes for a special preview dinner. The meal was well above anything we could have expected and set the standard for every visit since. In the months following the hotels opening we have seen the arrival of a Café Olypmico and Off The Hook, a street-style inspired clothing on the hotels main floor. The rooftop features a splashy terrasse which was perfect for our high flying Grand Prix schedule and now, that rooftop is joined by another soaring and splendid terrasse called Le Perché.

20375626_1915902728680644_3666102514496259718_nPerched on top of the hotel’s lower rooftop and overlooking the tourist friendly Square Jacques-Cartier, le Perché is a must for anyone looking to have a drink before or after dinner, a perfect summertime 5a7 or a Sunday afternoon glass of wine while watching the crowds swarm below. The view of Old Montreal and the Saint-Laurent River is spectacular and only adds to the experience. Decked out with palm trees that sway in the breeze and plenty of room to catch a few rays, le Perché is the mini vacation you didn’t know you needed.

There’s still plenty of summer left so if you’re looking for a great place to enjoy a few great drinks and a light snack, drop in and have a look for yourself. You’ll be impressed, I guarantee it.
