From anniversary parties to one of the biggest openings of the year, last week was a big one for Montreal’s social scene. We partied among the clouds at the third anniversary of Stylissme PR and Antonio Park continued his slow takeover of Montreal with the very successful opening of Kampai. Let’s get into it.
Stylissme turns 3!
Anniversaries are a big deal and last week it was tough to find a party that sparkled and glistened more than the third anniversary of Stylissme PR. Spearheaded by Montreal’s PR maven, Nadine Lajoie, the party was held in a fabulous penthouse suite overlooking a 180 degree view of the city. The view, food, the drinks and the crowd were entirely awe-inducing. Canapes, wine and cocktails were served. Photo credit: Kevin Moonesawmy
Kamapi Garden
Every year there are openings that stand out. Kampai (the latest offering from cuisine superstar, Antonio Park) is this year’s edition of that party. Hundreds of guests clamoured to get a first look at the crazy new décor, a first taste of the amazing food and of course a first sip from one of their great cocktails. You can check out a ton photos here but without a doubt Kampai needs to be your list of places you absoletuley need to visit. Read more about Kampai here. Photo credit: Jade Wulfraat & Karel Chladek
Dinette 007
For the launch of the highly anticipated 7th issue of Dinette the producers of the magazine wanted to do something a little different. In setting up a pop-up shop at the Arsenal event space in Griffintown they set the spotlight on a collection of up and coming local producers. Featuring everything from locally sourced juices and drinks to handmade jewellery, house wears and more, the pop-up shop was an amazing success and the 7th issue of the magazine again features breathtaking photography and stories that take us out of the Quebec cold and into the sunny streets of Palm Springs, CA. MADE WITH LOVE
On Monday of last week we stopped by Gare Windsor for Made With Love, a event that gathers cocktail lovers, mixologists and more, one a year for a sprawling cocktail crawl. Featuring restaurants from around the city and their best and bright bar staff, Made With Love has grown to one of the most interesting events of the season. Mixologists get to mix outside the box by featuring creative concoctions made specifically for the event. At the end of the evening, the mixologist with the most votes (in the form of blue dog tags) walked away with one of the top titles of the evening! See more here.
Wunderbar and Plateau Lounge turn 12
Twelve years is a long time for any bar or restaurant to be open in Montreal. It’s hard to believe that its been over a decade since the Plateau Lounge and the Wunderbar first opened in the W Montreal. Last week we celebrated in style as only the W Montreal can with a blow-out party that brought guests from around the city back into the fabulous bars. The anniversary coincided with the 1 year anniversary of Être avec toi (EAT), the hotel’s artsy new restaurant. There was no shortage of fun to be had at the W that night.
