Festival season lasts 12 months of the year in Montreal and this holiday season launches what could be the merriest festival of them all! The lights are up, the snow is down (for now, at least) and there’s no time like this December to starting stepping into the Christmas Spirit with Merry Montreal!
From December 14th to January 5th Merry Montreal will take over Old Montreal with events and activities for people of all ages. There’ll be vibrant weekends packed with choral singing while special surprises will await us all in giant gift boxes that will be found throughout the neighborhood.
Refreshments such as hot cocoa and mulled wine will keep us warm all weekend long and if you happen to find yourself under some mistletoe along Mistletoe Road, you might want to hug that someone special a little closer for a holiday smooch. Oh, and the man of the hour himself, Santa Claus, will be there making sure we’ve all been on our best behaviour all year and on New Year’s Eve join the party with The Lost Fingers!
During the 3-week festival, several restaurants in Old Montreal will be preparing special holiday menus under the Holiday Feasts banner. Taverne Gaspar, Suite 701, Kyo and more will be offering meals created especially for you and specifically for the festival.
There will also be a great Christmas Market spread out throughout the neighbourhood where you can get all your shopping done while having a great time gallivanting around Old Montreal. There’ll be plenty to do during our holiday vacation! Check out Merry Montreal’s website for a detailed calendar, where to stay and more!!
Happy Holidays and see you all in Old Montreal!
